007 The Soleto Map

I found an interesting article on the oldest map ever discovered. Known as the Soleto Map it was discovered in November 2005  in southern Italy and is believed to date from 500BC.

It depicts the heel of Italy’s “boot” and was placed on a piece of black-glazed terrocata vase. Place names are indicated by points and water by parallel, zig zag strokes.
